New York, NY -
The mecca of high school basketball for most lies in New York City. Madison Square Garden is the most known NBA arena and lies in NYC. Rucker Park is the most famous street hoop court in the country and is deep in the heart of NYC. And of course, some of the best basketball high school teams and players reside in NYC. Thurgood Marshall Academy is one of those great hoop high schools and 10 players from the varsity squad represented their school as they opened up the NYC portion of the tour with a team rating of 64.92.

Panther Senior Class of '08 off to College

It is now September 2008 and time to say goodbye to the class of 2008 as they venture off to college campuses around the United States. Co-Captain Rudy Macedon is off to Elizabeth City University in Charlotte, North Carolina and is thinking about becoming a team manager for the school's team as he pursues his degree. Rudy has aspirations of becoming a college coach someday and feels this is the best way to approach his future. C0-Captain Sean Corley received a partial athletic scholarship to Clarion University a Division II school with a possibility to receive major playing time as a freshman if he works hard. After injuring himself in the playoffs against Bayside Sean has recovered and is a 100% and ready for college. Sean is adapting to college life and meeting new people as his roommate is a freshman on the team from Detroit. More updates to come on the rest of the class of 2008 soon.

6) Thurgood Marshall (6-0) – TMA can virtually lock up a division title with a win over rival Wadleigh today. The Panthers are quietly putting together a nice year. This is a huge statement game in Manhattan AA and will be played in hostile territory. TMA hosts Wings on Friday.

The Wadleigh Tigers played about as good a first half as they could in taking an 18 point half time lead against the league leading Panthers of Thurgood Marshall Academy. It almost all came crashing down as the Panthers fought back to tie the game in the final minute before clutch free throw shooting won it for Wadleigh 79-73 in a PSAL Manhattan AA contest.

The Panthers are now 9-5 overall and 6-1 in the league.
